Second Sunday on Main – Love Your Neighbor – August 9
CINCINNATI (June 5, 2009) Second Sunday on Main, a hip, eclectic neighborhood event, presented by the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce, hosts its next event on August 9 in historic Over-the-Rhine. The street fair, on Main Street between 13th and Liberty, is free and open to the public.
Love Your Neighbor 2009
This month’s event celebrates the downtown neighbors who call Over-the-Rhine home. The event kicks off with a lineup of blues, roots rock and funk, featuring Voodoo Puppet at noon, followed by Groove Crew at 1 PM. Then, Messerly & Ewing take the stage at 2 PM, followed by Daughters & Sons at 3 PM and Pete Dressman & the Soul Unified Nation at 4 PM.
Foodies from across Greater Cincinnati will be treated to tastes fit for a king at this month’s Second Sunday on Main celebrity chef demo. Chef Jose Salazar of The Palace will showcase his culinary talents at Falling Wall Condos at 1419 Main Street. “This year, ‘Love Your Neighbor’ invites people from all over Cincinnati to our neighborhood,” says Barbara Hauser, chair, Second Sunday on Main. “Over-the-Rhine is an active community full of good neighbors and up and coming businesses. We hope people come check us out and fall in love with our eclectic neighborhood.”
Second Sunday on Main visitors can also kick back and enjoy the Christian Moerlein Beer Garden, check out a variety of diverse artsy vendors, Main Street shops and food booths. “The street fair atmosphere of Second Sunday on Main is really unique to Greater Cincinnati,” says Brian Tiffany, president, Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce. “The streets will be blocked off, waiting for you to stroll down Main with your family and friends. We are also proud Iris Book Café was named in the New York Times article 36 Hours in Cincinnati. Now you must come down and check it out.”
